Two war memorials in Northumberland were listed yesterday to coincide with Armistice Day.
The St Cuthbert's Church Lychgate War Memorial in Allendale (pictured) was unveiled on August 1, 1920 by Viscountess Allendale and includes the names of the 22 local men who lost their lives in the First World War and the two men who died in the Second World War.
Among the many forms which war memorials took after the First World War were church lychgates.
A school is set to become the first in Northumberland to go carbon neutral.
Whitfield Church of England Voluntary Aided First School has installed a raft of renewable energy measures.

The school's new wind turbine and solar photovoltaic panels will collectively generate more than 10 megawatts of electricity a year.
One of the Haltwhistle Festival walks is based on an 11-mile stretch of a 36-mile trail created to commemorate wandering tea seller Isaac Holden.
Isaac's 19th Century beat took in a wide rural area around Allendale and the North Pennines.

As well as selling his tea, Isaac wrote and sold tracts and poems, and 658 engraved portraits of himself. He used the proceeds to finance a series of projects to benefit the local communities he knew.
Today marks a special day on the North East calendar as we celebrate the life of the patron saint of Northumberland, St Cuthbert.
Often regarded as the most popular saint of medieval times and one of the most important, March 20 sees people celebrate the anniversary of the death of the region's own patron saint.

Pilgrims make their way across the causeway to Holy Island on Good Friday, 2006
Born in 634 AD, Cuthbert was born in the Lammermuir Region where he grew to work as a young shepherd.
Allen Valley Churches Together is to host a Northumbrian Ceilidh on March 14.
Featuring the Over The Moon Ceilidh Band, the event starts at 7.30pm in Allendale Village Hall.
Tickets, which cost £5 or £15 for a family ticket, are available from Allendale Co-op and Shalom in Hexham.
Visitors are asked to bring a contribution to a shared supper.
There will be a bar and a raffle and profits will go to Christian Aid.
St. Cuthbert's Church in Allendale is seeking volunteers to join its team of bell ringers.
Novices are welcome and anyone who is interested in learning more should visit the bell tower for either Wednesday evening practice or Sunday morning bell ringing.

Expect a full-on art attack if you're in Allendale over the weekend when the second annual art and music extravaganza takes place.
Colourful arts and crafts will be on display at a range of unusual venues throughout the village while musicians will take centre stage in local shops and cafes.
Even St Cuthbert's Church has been taken over for the weekend, with striking works by local glass artists Rena Holford and Willa Story gracing the altar.
